Organizing Regent

The Tryon Resolves Chapter, NSDAR, was organized on February 1, 1985, at the home of Ruth Beam Stroup on historic Old Post Road in Cherryville, North Carolina, with Kay Dellinger Marks as co-hostess.
​
There were 17 organizing members, with Barbara Brewer Moore installed as organizing regent. State Organizing Secretary Louise Hutchinson of Winston-Salem installed the officers.
Greetings were extended by Mayor J. Ralph Beam, Jr., and Gaston County Board of Commissioners Chairman David C. Beam. The Reverend Charles E. Page, pastor of First United Methodist Church, Cherryville, North Carolina, gave an address on the values of education, patriotism, and historic preservation.
